Emma, me, and the Cons!
Emma and Artist Brian Kong
The end of my Spring vacation is upon me, it's Sunday morning and I am watching "The Day of The Jackal" from the 1960's. I remember reading the book in my younger days and it was fantastic. Not a bad way to spend a lazy morning.. Yesterday Emma and I spent a wonderful day going to the two different Comicons that were held in Lowell and in Somerville. Emma seemed to enjoy the Lowell Con held at Larry's Comics, We both ended up with some awesome prints and autographed comics. We then went to Comicazi in Somerville and got the Official Boston Comiccon tee shirt and My Little Pony Exclusive comic book. Emma seemed to be in her glory. She has impressed me.
She was not far from the the bomb blasts that rocked Boston on Patriots Day. Her class was cancelled the next day but was held on Wednesday and Thursday. The last class was cancelled due to the fact of the gun battle with the terrorists in Watertown, I was glued to the television all day Friday and was so happy when I learned that he was captured. This was after they had cancelled Boston Comicon 2013. As soon as Emma heard the Terrorist was captured I got a text "Is Comicon back on?" Sorry to say, no it wasn't. But the determination of the Boston Geek population would not be stopped. Emma did some searching around and found the two previously mentioned Comicons and asked if we could go, "Dad, we can't let the terrorists win, we are from Boston." I nearly cried, I was so proud of her. I don't think that she was greatly affected by her proximity to the blasts. I don't think that I have to worry about her in her life, I know that she is a strong, beautiful, young woman and will do very well in life. Her writing is very important to her and she does it extremely well for a person of her age. Not too many people want to play Scrabble with her because her vocabulary is vast.
I am looking forward to next weekend, Emma and Luke will be staying with me for the whole weekend. I wonder what kind of adventure we will be going on?
Remember ...... Boston Strong!

Boston Marathon Tragedy......... Keep Calm and Stay Strong Boston!
Yesterday was Patriots Day here in Massachusetts, it was also the day of the Boston Marathon, and it was also the first day of my daughter Emma's writing class during April vacation. Her class ran from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm and was located on Boyleston Street about four blocks from the area that was attacked. When the first reports of the attacks came over the radio, I was on my way to pick up my daughter near the area where this tragedy occurred
The surge of emotions that ran through my mind was crazy. Fear for my daughter was the one that would not go away. I knew that I needed to get her out of the area. As I drove to the where she was, the area was in bedlam. People running with their families, runners trying to get somewhere safe, and police directing people from the crime sceene.
One final thought, Keep Calm and stay strong Boston!

Has the World gone Crazy?
I never thought that I would see the World on the brink of Nuclear War. But here it is 2013 and some little North Korean Warlord is threatening the United States. They say that North Korea is a few months from developing a missile capable for hitting US soil with a Nuclear Warhead. A few months? The President should go on national TV and inform the world of this, then pull out his special briefcase and say "but we have the capability NOW!"
What is North Korea thinking? They must be daft! I am surprised that this is still going on. The only thing that is a plus with this situation is that the US and China seem to be coming a bit closer together. The fact is North Korea has little to gain, and everything to lose, from starting a war. The regime’s primary concern is self-preservation; a full-fledged fight would be dynastic suicide.
Here is my answer to the situation:
End of Story!

WOMEN! What's the secret?
In all my life I haven't figured them out. I have fallen in love a few times, been hurt more than I care to count and have seen girls that I have never stopped loving switch to the other team. That's the killer, did I have something to do with that? I dunno, it bothers me sometime. But they do seem much happier.
Girl have come into and out of my life, only to show up again. I was married (matter of fact, still am) to a woman who seems to loathe me. I have never really understand why. Throughout our time together I gave her everything I could. I ran a successful DJ Business (www.rockingroger.com) until my knees gave out and I could no longer continue performing four times a weekend. It was when this extra money stopped coming in that I was shown the gate and she "needed a break". Well, it's been a ten year break. I guess we are playing that game, "Who's gonna die first?" But that's probably another thing that I will fail.
I have fallen in love a few times and these women have either cheated on me, left me, or gone gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that......LOL! Some of my best friends are on the other team. Jeez, I'm gonna burn for that. It just never has seemed to work out for me concerning the opposite sex. Oh well, life goes on.

Spring has Sprung....but who really cares!
The Season has supposedly changed but the temperatures have not increased. It's still cold in the mornings. Life at Casa de Trujillo hasn't changed much. It consists of getting up at 3:45 am, taking care of my legs and walking the dog. After this is all this I sit in the kitchen and make my parents their brown bag lunches. My father being 89 and my mother being 82 they have issues in movement. Personally, I think its laziness. Lunch consists of a sandwich and other treats (ie. Pudding, Peanut butter crackers, nutty bars, gelatin and other snacks). Then its time for the 3 S's, shit, shower and shave.
By the time I'm getting dressed it's 5:15am and I'm in the van at 5:30am and off to work. I spend my days taking sales calls and helping out my fellowman getting the tools to pipe the shit right out of their house. Thats right, I sell toilets and other such items. I knew I'd put that English degree to work for me. The only reason I am in this business is because after I got out of school I wanted to spend some time with my Dad, little did I know that I would be in this business for the rest of my life. So I won't be the writer that I wanted to be but I think my daughter will be.
The one thing I have done in my life is passed on my love for writing and reading to my Emma. I am so proud of her. Not only does she do well in school (When she passes in her homework) but she reads like its going out of style. I thought I read a lot when I was younger but not like her. Recently she entered a poetry contest and took 4th place, not bad for the first writing contest she has ever entered.
This coming April vacation she is taking a writing course in Boston six hours a day for four days. I have never heard of a kid wanting to do such a thing but more power to her. So I'll be walking the streets of Boston for the time she is in class, be prepared for a lot of photos of good ole' Beantown.
Luke is no slouch either but his game is Basketball, He's pretty good at it and just needs to keep practicing to get better. For April vacation he is going to Europe, I look at what these kids are doing and then I look back at my life at their age. I never thought of going to Europe, the trip I want to take was to go to Disneyland with Rex Trailer and Sgt. Billy. Well enough of my rambling.........Bye Boston!
